Representing the communities of Everett, Marysville, and the Tulalip Tribes, the 38th Democrats are grassroots-driven to represent our constituents in the local community, Snohomish County, and Washington State Democrats.

Become a member of the 38th LDD. Voters living within the 38th Legislative District are eligible for membership. The annual membership fee is a recommended $60, but inability to pay does not bar anyone from membership.

While we do not prevent anyone from becoming a member due to financial hardship, we do ask members and PCOs to donate whatever possible, as we are reliant on your financial support to continue bringing you local progressive, democratic resources.

Plan of Action

Introduction:  The 2024 Plan of Action outlines a timeline for a Year-at-a-Glance.  A series of events and activities designed to engage our community, support endorsed candidates, and advance the mission of the 38th Legislative District Democrats are proposed within committees, which will be added.  This draft plan spans from January to December’s ReOrg in 2024, encompassing an overview of our activities.  Opportunities to participate in the committees that do the work, in coordination with the Executive Committee, are open to all PCOs and Members.  You are encouraged to bring your time and talents to join us in a successful 2024.

January

Early Endorsements – Endorsement Committee monitors

Candidate filings; communicates with candidates regarding endorsement; conducts interviews; and presents recommendations timely to the general membership.

January – July are peak times for the endorsements committee, but they work year-round.

PCO Kickoff Meeting & Membership Renewals 

 

March - April

Fundraiser hosted by Fundraising Committee  

This committee explores fun and exciting options (like a Spaghetti Feed fundraiser, BBQ at Aquasox, etc.).  Funds are used for candidate support, PCO trainings, membership/PCO development and general housekeeping.

March 12 – Washington State Presidential Primary Election

April - May

Membership/PCO Committee (Committee Chair – CVC) – PCO outreach for Filing Week

PCOs must file to run for re-election to their office, outreach and recruit for filling openings.

May – December

Dedicated to Get Out The Vote (GOTV) and Candidate Support

Coordinate PCOs/Members, itis All-Hands-on-Deck with active campaigns (lit drop/doorbelling/phone banking, postcards and more).  Work with WSDCC Coordinated Campaign and local campaigns in support of candidates up until the election.

Primary Election is 8/6/2024

Nov. 5              Election Day; Results Watch Party.  Celebrate with a wrap-up of the work of every one of us!

Nov. 6 – Dec.   Prepare for ReOrg.  Wrap up the business of the year.  Coordinate for Reorganization Meeting.
